The Discovery Channel's defense of their fake Megalodon documentary reminds me of the position taken by most Creationists. Shark Week executive producer, Michael Sorensen's comment that Megalodon is "one of the most debated shark discussions of all time…who really knows," despite the fact that no shark scientist in the world thinks that there is any truth to the idea that Megalodon is still alive or has any evidence to suggest otherwise, is remarkably similar to those Creationists who continue to assert that evolution is still being hotly debated in laboratories, research centers and halls of academia. Which it's not. Those who assert such falsehoods make themselves look every bit as preposterous as those who are seriously trying to convince the American public that their fake documentary is in any way based on reality.
