As an insider who obviously has access to information @emilyyoshida cannot come close to knowing (not that she consciously claims she does), articles like this remind me that I need to be much more careful when I make assertions, assuming, as I all too often do, that I KNOW something must be true, when, in reality, I honesty don't know shit. The author's facts and opinions are so riddled with errors as to barely reflect the reality of the series I live inside every day. She is making sweeping generalizations and monolithic assumptions based only on a few scattered breadcrumbs of data. I am reminded of the story of the blind man who confidently describes an elephant after touching only its tail. I honor Yoshida's concerns because they come from a place I recognize well: a veneration of the original #Cosmos and an overwhelming desire for its successor to be worthy of its name. We share that. But it doesn't change the fact that, in the end, she doesn't know what the hell she's talking about. May she be pleasantly surprised.
