BRANDON'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT: This is the Pacific barreleye, and lest you think your eyes are deceiving you, yes, this fish has a transparent, fluid filled skull, and yes, those are the green lenses of its massive eyes pointing straight up (while they can rotate forward, this is their natural inclination). Those things that look like eyes on the front of its face are actually nostrils. The barreleye lives in deep waters off the coast of California (more than 2,000 feet down), where the water is nearly impenetrably black, hence the need for those titanic eyes, which soak up every bit of possible light. While scientists knew of this creature's existence since 1939, it wasn't until 2004 that one was actually photographed alive. http://i.imgur.com/Mzyb5.jpg
