Those complaining about #PeterCapaldi's age (he's 55--positively antediluvian!) reveal an appalling ageism, to say nothing of a profound ignorance of #DoctorWho's long history. To assert the actors playing the Doctor must be young in order to be relevant, or to claim that you will no longer watch because the new lead is "old and ugly" doesn't reveal a misstep on the part of the #BBC; it reveals the appalling shallowness of a great number of its viewers.
