Hey fellow liberals, if the Vatican began executing people for the "crimes" of homosexuality and adultery, would that bother you? Would you rise up and speak out against that? Would you consider that a issue deserving of global condemnation? Why then are you silent when the leaders of Islam regularly do such things out of Mecca? Why is one worthy of vilification and the other merely a topic of unassailable cultural traditions and unimpeachable foreign mores? When I attack Islam or any faith, I am not attacking people, I am attacking belief systems, and if you tsk tsk me for confronting an issue on which you are silent because you want to remain culturally sensitive, I suggest you look up the definition of abetment. And moral flaccidity.
