Scientists have no idea what these black spidery things on Mars are, though some theorize they may be eruptions of frozen, underground CO2 which is heated by the warming sun and become roaring gas geysers (think “The Princess Bride’s” Fire Swamp, minus the ROUSes)! http://boingboing.net/2012/10/03/the-weird-black-spidery-thin.html
