The studio wrests control from the director. Giants and witches are added to an inspiring true story. Reshoots ordered to include more close-ups of Keanu Reeves' face, more bloody carnage and, naturally, a love scene. Sometimes I think everyone in Hollywood slept through Altman's "The Player."
