i've discovered a few little tidbits: 1.stating an opposite view of gay marriage automatically means you are full of hate and want gay people to be murdered. ( disagreeing suddenly equals hate) also. you are ignorant. ( i have been told these things) just saying what i believe is forbidden. and i deserve wrath. okay good, now that that's out of the way. 2. Christians are pretty much the only ones expected to back down. and we generally do. it seems like we've got a large majority of Christians that either need or do one of two things with these issues. a) speak about everything like it's on a magnet at lifeway Christian bookstore ( or some other way of speaking the truth that makes me want to die.) or b) we have an incessant need to be thought of as absolutely cool, and non-judgmental, nor can we handle disapproval ( who likes it?!), God is Love so He doesn't mind. or c) i just thought of another. we are trying to figure out how to Love and what that looks like, so it ends up looking like tolerating all things. am i perfect? nope, nor do i mean to imply that i am. i just don't want to come to the end of my life and know that i let every thirsty soul i encountered remain thirsty because i was afraid to be hated or misunderstood.
