Pretty terrific opening ceremony. Well done, #DannyBoyle. I'm glad you made a very different show than Beijing--if you cannot beat them, reconceptualize everything. I adored the early agrarian Shire world, Branagh and the rising industrial furnace, and the acknowledgment of the country's rich world of literature, music and drama (although, hello, where was "Monty Python"…where was "Doctor Who?"). Loved all the little touches like the young torch bearers, the construction gauntlet, etc. And I think the cauldron may be my favorite in recent memory. But while it may have been little more than a gimmick, I have a feeling we'll be talking about tonight for many years because of just one moment--James Bond and his newest Bond girl, her royal majesty, Elizabeth II. #Olympics
