my thoughts on crap. amen.

i have a question. why do we produce and accept so much artistic crap as Christians? now, i am not saying there are no Christians doing anything artistic well. but in general, we make crap movies and play them for each other, write books that are delicate, with a high emphasis on being inoffensive, for each other, etc.

i rarely see something produced for Christians, by Christians, done well. because it doesn't have to be done well, we'll buy it anyway, cause its got a big " Jesus" stamp on it.

meanwhile, these works are generally laughed at and would be mocked ( and rightly so) in our highest institutions of learning. and not mocked because of Christ, but that Christ is being used as an excuse to produce poor work.

the Christians i know who are turning the world upside down, aren't micro managing every word, thought, and action. and their lives are FULL of integrity. they aren't afraid of feeling, of making a mistake, or of laughter.

we ought to be the ones setting the standard. not packaging mediocrity on a consistent basis, and calling it good.

the Lord created everything we see, in six days and called it, " good." and we are made in His image.
