Perhaps this is a problem endemic to those without children, but just once I'd like some of my friends with kids to say, "My child is not remotely exceptional. My son is not the smartest kid in his class. I really don't believe my daughter will grow up to be the next Einstein." I get the whole cheerleading your DNA stuff, but if all of you think your child is the smartest kid in the room, none of them are.
