Dear America, where is your backbone? Where did you last see it? Can you recall when you last used it?
Dear America, why do you say you have neither the time nor energy to dialogue, but only after you've been presented with hard questions you continually deflect? It's ok to not have all the answers, but then stop pretending you do.
Dear America, why have emotional outbursts replaced rational response? Why is pushback to what you claim considered bad form? Are you so unused to having your views challenged? Pushback does not mean your beliefs are incorrect, though, all things being equal, a correct belief should be simpler to defend than an incorrect one. We have fooled ourselves into thinking that all beliefs are equal. But, insofar as we can use evidence to validate their claims, they most demonstrably are not. So please, don’t be surprised when someone has the nerve to call you out.
Dear America, when someone uses facts and evidence to counteract your assertions, they are not being superior or condescending. Facts are not insulting; they are simply facts. And while you are entitled to your own opinion, you are not entitled to your own facts. Besides, it has been my experience that charges of superiority and condescension occur most generally when the person at whom you're leveling the charge merely knows how to string a coherent sentence together without any misspellings. Ok, that last bit may have been a little condescending…
Dear America, do us all a favor and try to believe as few things as possible. Evidence makes belief unnecessary. One does not have to believe what one has evidence for.
