In 200 BC Leptis Magna was the 3rd most important Roman city in North Africa after Carthage and Alexandria. It is one of the best preserved Roman ruins in the world, with a theatre, baths, forums, columns and arches. #Gaddafi forces are hiding munitions there because they believe NATO will not bomb the ruins. via @peterclifford1
