@TheSeatedView My breakthrough on this topic came with 1) some of my fibro "pain," which is more of a squishy sort of itchy, sort of zappy crawling kind of thing. If someone asked me if I was in pain, I would probably say no, despite the fact I want to pull my arm out of my shoulder socket. 2) is based on my dad. He has bullous pemphigoid and psoriasis. He itches 24/7. It isn't he can't get to these itches; it's between two layers of skin. He is sometimes in more "pain" than I am, but If he was asked if he was in pain, he'd say no - he itches. My rheumy told me that sensations that cause discomfort ARE pain.
