Of the various concerns that are valid regarding Steam curators, I find the "I don't wanna read what this guy has to say!" ones to be the least important. By showing a quote (yes one quote, that's what some people are up in arms over) from a popular curator, they are essentially crowdsourcing a boxquote (which have been on Steam games for years from various sites) which is not cherry-picked by the developer/publisher, some of which are known to be taken out of context or from preview articles which are not properly disclosed. If anything this ensures that at least one "non-traditional" voice ends up on that page, which is inherently good for the consumer. I don't see a reason to be against giving more information to the customer, especially in a short snappy format. It also assists in finding other curators that you might wish to follow. I don't think "this guy is mean!" is a good reason to be able to shut off the curator system altogether. If you can't shut off box quotes (and you never will be able to either) from gaming websites on the steam store page then it doesn't seem reasonable to be able to shut off a single quote from a curator, whether you follow him or not. Whatever the case the issue seems to be more of a storm in a teacup, though I admit my perspective is biased.
