Things to make you go hmmm: Two(?) Years ago, I took a stand - I wanted basemodding to die. 1.6 gave me the tools to do that, and I embraced them. Forge and FML no longer ship any mojang code directly. That (unpopular) stance is why forge lives today, and is going to power sponge as well as your favourite mods tomorrow.
I guess if there's a moral here, it's to go with you gut, even if it doesn't make you Mr Popularity. Never assume that the status quo is going to remain.
