Ok do we really have to spell out why they still have a female only event? eSports is dominated by male competitors, you want more female competitors, the way you get more female competitors is encouraging them to play with a female tournament bracket. Males don't need any help, for the moment females kinda do to both get their name out there and provide a more welcoming start for their competitive careers. Eventually I hope we won't need female brackets, since it's obvious that both men and women CAN compete on an equal level in eSports, they just currently don't. eSports is not welcoming to women for the most part, we need to change that, female only brackets are a good start, but they're not the be all and end all solution. We have female only tournaments in SC2 and really the only competitive female player is Scarlett. No harm in promoting diversity in a traditionally male-dominated scene. You're not taking events away from men, you're putting on extra events to give female competition a bit of a boost, which in my mind is totally fine.
