Phantom Thieves
The start.gg account known as Phantom Thieves was controlled in part by me and a few others. I wanted to address two concerns today as well as what will happen in the future.
1. “Stolen” tournament earnings.
I will not deny that the account made considerable upsets which may have denied players from receiving earnings. I want to apologize for this. I never accepted any tournament earnings nor do I have a method to accept earnings. I don’t have a PayPal/Venmo or anything. I have no idea where the funds went. I also never received a DM from a TO regarding funds. I have no idea what was done with the funds at all. I don’t have access to the Twitter or anything, just the start.gg.
That being said, if we are obligated to re-imburse a player for funds that they would’ve won, please send me a DM and I will make it right.
2. Racist statements made under a “Phantom Thieves” alias on Twitch.
This was not me, nor can I see it being anyone in the group. I believe this is an attempt to individually undermine the members of the account. I hate that these statements were made and I’m disgusted that anyone would ever do this. If there is a way to track the source of the donations I strongly urge whoever may have the power yo do this.
As of now, the account is likely defunct. Thank you for directing me your concerns. Again, if anyone needs to be compensated for lost earnings I will make sure that money is recovered.
