I am officially an Unrestricted Free Agent as of today.
Hello Apex community. Cutting right to the chase, I am officially an unrestricted free agent as of today (December 4th, 2022). Before I get into detail on this, I want to thank the Cloud9 staff and Jack for being so hands-on with their Apex team and putting in so much time effort to be sure we were being treated extremely fairly ever since we signed back in April of 2021 to now. Cloud9 was my first ever organization and I couldn’t have gotten a better first org to start off my esports career. Due to unforeseen circumstances, C9 is not able to support us anymore. These circumstances being the economy forcing C9’s hand to have to cut their budgets in Apex, which inevitably is forcing them to not be able to support their Apex roster anymore.
My journey has been up and down as an Apex competitive player. From meeting Protectful, who was my first ever comp teammate, to teaming with Rkn and Xenial, who dropped me on my dumb ass head when i was on perma flank as a wattson (ily guys 😂), to meeting Zach and teaming with multiple thirds in our careers. Believe it or not, in my entire competitive career after meeting Zach, he and I qualified for every single top 20 major finals lobby in our entire careers. Me, Zach and inhumed qualifying for Autumn playoffs, then me, knoqd and Zach dominating the back end of the ALGS online circuit and getting 2nd overall in NA champs. To Alb, Zach and I making Sweden LAN and despite the adversity we had to face, I individually had one of the best performances at my first ever LAN. We got 2nd in the WINNERS BRACKET FINALS with a sub we have never played with before (says a lot about Graceful, he is a GOD btw). You already know we were 1v3’in mfs in Sweden on LAN so y’all haters know I ain’t cheating. We qualified for Champs based on overall points and made it by every single stage with 0 practice beforehand. Basically, Zach and I were a dominant duo for quite some time and through multiple different metas. Our time has just come to an end together as teammates.
C9 has fully adapted to a new playstyle (early rotate), on both maps and it’s been a lot for Zach to wrap his head around after IGL’ing edge for his entire career with multiple thirds. Thank god for Rocker being able to guide Zach for our early rotate macro. Rocker has a lot more experience when it comes to early rotating, sp we have been heavily reliant on the spots we choose to take for each zone on SP. Edge is just a whole other animal right now and most top edge teams have been struggling with that playstyle. When Zach has some sort of control, he is a ‘GUARANTEED to qual’ for anything kinda player. I genuinely think teaming with Mac for so long led Zach to let go of the HARD IGL traits that he had which has affected him as a player inevitably making Zach realize that he needs to be in more of a co-IGL environment for now. At the end of the day, we learn and we grow as players.
As for my current team situation, we compliment each other very well. We have had to deal with contests on contests and have had no time to breathe and act on things we have learned as a team. We had a bumpy start which is why we got contested so much, but that didn’t stop us from grinding and giving up on trying to put points up on the board.
Rocker is an astounding player and I give him the strongest vouch as a co-IGL and a support player. Rocker is the most unlucky human being on the planet Earth, but he always pushes through the bullshit that he has to go through and that should say the most about him as a person. Rocker deserves a Tier 1 team and he has the passion to keep competing no matter the adversity at hand. Rocker is the GOAT and just needs someone like me to push him and develop a relationship with to shoot the shit and be real with one another about things on the team.
All in all, I may have gotten carried away, but this is a FA post. Not a life story post. So, as of today I am an unrestricted Free Agent and am willing to hear out any offers before PL comes to an end, or after PL and LAN both conclude.
