Final #Jeopardy Wager Theory - Tue. 11/29/2022 (contains spoilers!)

Scores after DJ!
Cris - $24,000
Matt - $21,400
Sheila - $4,200

Suggested FJ! Wager Ranges
Cris - $18,801 to $19,799
$2 to $2,599
Standard minimum cover wager for Matt’s doubled score. $19,799 puts Cris above Sheila if she wagers $0 (so as to force her to get FJ! right to potentially win). Alternatively, Cris can wager up to $2,599 if he thinks FJ! will be a triple stumper or Matt will wager $0.

Matt - $5,201 to $12,999
$5,201 covers Cris by $2 if Cris decides not to wager to cover and get FJ! right. $12,999 prevents Matt from falling below Sheila if she doubles her score.

Sheila - $1,001 to $4,198
Sheila can’t win in a triple stumper. The only way she can win is if she’s the only one to get FJ! right and Matt decides to go all in. If Sheila gets FJ! right, she’ll be $2 ahead of Cris if he wagers to cover Matt and gets FJ! wrong. But seeing she’s in a distant 3rd, she might as well wager everything but $2.

Scores after FJ!
Cris: $24,000 + $20,000 = $44,000
Matt: $21,400 - $12,999 = $8,401
Sheila: $4,200 + $0 = $4,200

There’s a world where Matt wagers everything and Sheila wins the triple stumper by wagering $0 (seeing how Cris didn’t cap his max wager at $19,799). And even if Cris’ and Matt’s scores were swapped, Cris still would’ve won. Regardless, this was another fantastic game that had me on edge, especially when Cris found DD3. I legitimately thought, “Oh, this could be it.” Next year’s SCC already has some great contenders, and we still have a long season ahead of us.
