On my Future in Hearthstone

Hello all,

They say life comes at you fast and after riding a high of emotions after finally qualifying for the World Championship and winning Hearthstone’s latest showcase event, I am faced with some difficult decisions and little time to make them.

Sadly, Team Liquid has decided to cancel my competitive contract at the end of the year. Liquid is an awesome organization and I’ve always felt very welcome by their staff that have done a great deal to support me, especially having the bootcamp last year in the Netherlands was great! The people in NL were really nice and I would have loved to return some time. We are exploring together what a streaming contract would look like, so there is a chance I will be staying with TL under a different title.

I am looking for an organization to represent as a high-level competitive player as well as a consistent streamer in 2023. If you own or know and organizations that might be interested, I’ve got a resume of both streaming as well as competitive achievements ready to distribute.

Where we are now:

In all openness: The way things are going right now, I will no longer be able to support myself from Playing/Streaming HS alone, as I’ve been having trouble building up a larger group that wants to support the stream. Taking time off for various competitions surely has not made it easy for everyone to keep attached to the stream in the past.

What is next:

Hearthstone has given me a lot of joy over the years and having my community come together during last week’s Open Tournament has been lovely. Experiencing this, I am going to give streaming full time a try as I will be able to provide content more consistently with less competitive obligations and hope to be able to reach more people with both educational and fun content.

Furthermore, I will be releasing a small expansion of cards and ideas that I’ve had. A while ago I applied for a design position within the HS team. Seeing how much joy I had from coming up with new ideas and tinkering with them inspired me to think about HS from a different angle and work on cards in my spare time, after streaming and competing. If another position opens in the future, I will def. be applying again! I would be delighted to work on HS for a longer time as I have a lot of love for the game.

On the positive side, I’ve qualified for the World Championship and hopefully will be going out on a high. Qualifying for worlds and winning a Championship is a great achievement in itself and I am super proud to achieve this twice with so many years in between, constantly being a force in the HS competitive scene.
