First, I stand by what I say in the clip. The fishing in Frontiers can hardly even be called a game. There's almost no gameplay. Which is my issue. Either have a real fishing mini-game that's actually fun to play, or don't have one. It's function for progression can be achieved by simply having a purple coin shop. The fishing is just a time consuming way to convert purple coins to fish tokens.

"But it's just an optional mini-game!" So? How does that make it immune to criticism? I criticize Frontiers because I care about Sonic and want it to be as good as possible. I want every part of the game to be good. Do you not?

But that's irrelevant. The real issue here is that the clip conveniently cuts out the greater context of what I was talking about. My problem with Frontiers is not the fishing. It's all the non-gameplay present in the game. In that video, I say the same thing about the combat, puzzles and mini-games. What I said about the fishing was just another example of the real problem I think Frontiers has.

But of course, leaving all that in the video wouldn't get you as much Twitter clout. No. Taking a small piece of a larger talk and presenting it without context gets many more likes and retweets. "Look at this guy, getting so upset over a harmless mini-game." If you present someone making a valid argument of the game's flaws as them whining, you get to be the hero calling out a "Sonic hater". Most people will never know that this post is dishonest.

Also, in that video my overall message was that I like Frontiers. And I've since come to like it even more. And have posted multiple videos showing how much fun I think the game can be. This is how low the Sonic Twitter mob has stooped. It's even willing to vilify hardcore Sonic fans that like the game because they dare to say anything negative at all about it.

To the people coming at me for "hating fishing for no reason", it's not entirely their faults. They have a false image of me created by having information withheld. That clip alone does certainly make it look like I'm whining over nothing. The real fault lies with the one who presented them with the info in the first place.

However, that does not excuse the behavior of people attempting to mock someone for their opinion. Content creators giving Sonic a hard time is not the problem. The problem is these people who would attempt to dogpile on someone for not conforming to the general consensus. There have been many instances lately of people getting harassed by these drones on social media. Even prominent and positive members of the community have been attacked. And it is unacceptable. These wretches are doing far more harm to Sonic and the community than any Youtuber. Jebtube made an excellent video called Sonic Fantears Review that delves into this issue. I recommend you watch it, and feel ashamed if you are one of these people.

As far as I'm concerned, if you've been a part of these social media attacks you are nothing more than a pest that needs to be exiled from the community. Unlike others who have been targeted, I do not crumple to this pathetic bullying. To anyone coming to bother me about fishing, fuck off.
