My decision to leave Mockit

Reason for leaving

I have been the team’s coach and analyst for around 7-8 months now, so making this decision was very hard for me. Being part of a pro league team is a great honor and being paid for doing what you love is an amazing feeling. I also would have loved to own a NAVI jersey with my name on the back :( However, I’m not here because of the money. My only motivation is to improve the performance of the team that I’m coaching. Sadly, the team and I had differences regarding work ethic and attitude towards improving, which made me feel like I couldn’t do what I set out to do. Therefore, I decided to leave the team and to not sign with NAVI. I am very grateful for the opportunity that was given to me and I became good friends with everyone on the team, so I wish them the best of luck for the future and especially the next half of PL.

About my future

I absolutely love working with Rainbow, so I am looking to join a PL team as a coach, or preferably analyst. If you are interested in my work, you can contact me a week in advance of a proleague game and I will create a preparation document like used to do for Mockit. The following is what I would usually do in order to prepare for a pro league opponent:

- Data-driven map veto prediction
- Summary of every default strategy (and notable pocket strats) for every spot on every possible map, based on all relevant vods of the last ~3 months and video-aided presentation
- Suggestions for specific antistrats, small changes/adaptations to your team’s default strat or just general things to keep in mind, like G2’s focus on defensive rotations for example
- Live updates during PL games with information gained from the stream

As for my style of coaching, I’m not an emotional leader or someone who dictates a particular style. I interpret the role of coaching as being another pair of eyes who has the time and awareness to spot systematic, macro-level mistakes in scrims and then offers different solutions, which are discussed within the team. Of course, I also like to create new strats or look for interesting strats to steal from elsewhere.

Again, I’m highly motivated to work as an analyst or coach for a proleague team and I would be happy to present an example of my work.
