USF4, USF4Revival and the "Capcom killed it" lie.

Since I have lost all of my motivation for supporting USF4, let's speak about how things really are concerning usf4, the usf4 revival community and the blaming game around Capcom and USF4.

To give you a brief introduction, I'm the guy that came up with the whole USF4 revival community idea, made a facebook group and a discord dedicated to it that currently counts almost 2500 people. Among the countless things I have done for the game, I have organized or collaborated to organize USF4 at 3 majors in Europe after the game died. I have left any moderation or admin power after a shit night where I didn't act right ( and apologized for it).

During this time I have dealt with a few constant recurring behaviors:

- Very few people actually wanting to do work (currently the community has really 2 active people dedicated to it for 2.5 k users, and they are also losing motivation).
- LOTS of PS4 users whining about the lack of ps4 online tournaments for MONTHS but never organizing one, after it happened a couple of times, the numbers were laughable (i don't think they cracked the 8 men bracket), also refusing to use discord where matchmaking is optimized and easily divided into regions.
- Toxicity and whining posts, call out posts, insults posts, salty posts that when challenged to "run the set" refused to play. (See what beef culture does to communities?)
- People trying to take away from mine or other staff work in various ways, sometimes with heavy made up accusations (theft) for no reason and then coming back to the community with the tail between their legs.
- People that would rather talk about how bad SF5 is than play USF4 in any way.
- Tournaments with prize pots being completely ignored, a tourney with free entry and 50$ on the line failing to make an 8 men bracket. Prize pots available for free entry tourneys with 12 or more players being untouched. Weekly European and North American Online tournaments making an average of 4-6 players a week.
- Beginners (and non) oriented free live coaching going mostly ignored.

This is btw, the biggest and probably most vastly recognized SF4 centric community in the world (unless i missed something) and I think It's VERY representative of the state of the game right now. Meanwhile, whenever I wanted to organize a USF4 tourney at majors around Europe I have been welcomed with enthusiasm, support and open arms by pretty much anyone I have asked. Nobody said they didn't have place for usf4 at their event or that capcom "forbid them from running it", but unfortunately, the actual turnout when they happened wasn't amazing. I know the tone of this post is very blue, and i want to thank everyone that has shown up at majors, that still plays online, that still posts videos and talks about the game in the community, this isn't about you guys, you guys are awesome and coherent. This is about all the clowns that like to blabber about capcom banning usf4 at tourneys, the game being opposed by unspecified forces or whatever, but always having their Option Select on deck whenever they are actually asked to play. The game, at least when it comes to a sense of community initiative and involvement is DEAD. It isn't dead in the old sense of "nobody is playing it", because there are definitely dedicated people, but I'm really tired of people wasting their breath on lying about being capcom's fault. People still play all kind of games that aren't "e-sports" and that don't have dev support anymore or a pro tour. The real problem when a game or a community dies is your shitty attitude, you being a poser instead of playing and doing something concrete to help your game, and this is true for any game you are dedicated to.
