The future of our @heroesesports team from org owner

Hi all,

I want to first express how tremendously proud and thankful I am of each of our Team Freedom players in Heroes of the Storm—both past and present. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of players, managers, and coaches. In light of some rumors going around in the HOTS community about our future participation in the Heroes Global Championship, I’d like to share my official position on the matter.

I will personally be taking a step back from team ownership to focus in a larger capacity on the 501(c)(3) charity I founded with my wife called The Esports Foundation. We have already done great things locally, but look forward to 2019 where we can make a greater impact for children in need through the help of the esports community.

George—our team manager—will be taking the reins and the HOTS team will be playing under a new name in 2019. I can confirm that it will not be the Simplicity organization as rumors have stated. I have been working with George closely to discuss the future direction for the team and ensure that our players are taken care of during this transition period. Look out for an upcoming statement from George later today where he shares some of his perspectives.
I am grateful for the opportunity to be involved in HOTS—it was a pleasure to meet and work with everyone along the way—and I look forward to continuing to be actively involved through the foundation. For now, consider Team Freedom on hiatus.

Thank you,
Nich Wattanasin
