Darren Harriott: Visceral

Comedy Reviewer 8/10

Harriott strolls through another great show. He's still pretty new to all this but with the way he commands the stage you could never tell. He has his audience transfixed on his every word and, given the time of night, that's some achievement!

Harriott once again opens up when talking about different issues. Many of these are personal and, at times, sensitive subjects for him. In this year's show we get to learn even more about Harriott; who he is and what has made him the stand up comedian we see before us. The show is not completely different from last year; it's still a getting-to-know-you set up and many subjects remain. However, this year we get to view things from slightly different angles.

He announced his arrival by being upfront and honest, and why should that change? It may be more of the same, but this is what wins him the respect of the entire audience. It's a joy watching as he quite often delivers to a completely silent audience who hang onto his every word. The way he holds a room is something of beauty.

Harriott is impressive; commanding the stage and delivering material like a natural. I tipped him last year for bigger and better things and I stand by that, only now I believe those things will be even bigger and even better.

This is a high quality show but the way it's performed makes it all the more special.
