Response To OpinionatedEuro on the Unfair Advantages Granted to Far-Left Groups

Short version: Zuzanna, what you're saying is *true.* The police of the UK have arrested far-left agitators. However, your point does not negate and cancel out the original point at hand (to put it another way, what I said in the first place is *also true*).Your point and my point are able to both exist in this situation going on.

I appreciate the fact you brought it up. It's important enough for me to respond to at length here in this Twitlonger, to guarantee the nuances of it are done some semblance of respect to. But for those of you who wanted me to get to the fucking point, there you go. The crux of things here is that: Zuzanna's point and my point co-exist.

Now, for the folks who want the sweet and sexy nuances of it all? Read on, my friends. We're going in deep.

(NOTE: Before going into this, I ought to point out that I'm speaking as someone in the United States. A country that declared antifa a domestic terrorist group. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/antifa-domestic-terrorists-us-security-agencies-homeland-security-fbi-a7927881.html)

The best place to begin is examining our tweet exchange, and breaking down the details of what I said.

My statement was: “Why do Anti-fa get free reign to do whatever they want to in the United Kingdom? This is why." https://twitter.com/nickmon1112/status/1010876997931819009

Your reply was "I would need to politely disagree. When caught they do get arrested." https://twitter.com/OpinionatedEuro/status/1010875109031272448

So. The distinction here is Anti-fa have freedom of ACTION. That does NOT necessarily mean freedom of CONSEQUENCE.

Here's a news story from June 2016 detailing the arrest of far-left Anti-fa leader Richard Pursell. [http://www.kentonline.co.uk/dover/news/latest-jailing-for-dover-riot-96981/]

"Another thug has been jailed for four months for his part in the Dover riot. Richard Pursell, 44, of no fixed address, was recorded punching and kicking opponents in the race and immigration demonstrations in Effingham Street and Folkestone Road."

To be honest that was simple and straightforward enough to explain here. My point is they are free to ACT (i.e. start riots). Police, of course, have to keep public order and stop threats to public safety in response. There. Is. No. Counterextremism. Policies. In. Place. To. Curtail. Antifa. Attacks/Riots. To DISCOURAGE THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE from their behaviors. That's a different situation from saying "Antifa don't get arrested ever."

Now that we cleared that up, I can crack this topic wide open and take you through the nuances of it.

In my opinion, the amount of mercy and restraint Generation Identity has shown Nick Lowles and Hope not Hate is incredibly generous. If I was in the shoes of Generation Identity I would not have been so tolerant of the attacks from HnH on a routine basis.

I'm mentioning Gen ID and HnH because in this section we'll assess the differing treatments at play between the two. To put it bluntly, while the UK government is giving their 110% on silencing Generation Identity and suffocating their freedom of speech, the opposition over at Hope not Hate is not subjected to the same scrutiny and restraints.

Here on June 22nd 2018 we have Hope not Hate praising the banning of Gen ID from Facebook http://archive.is/YvfXv. Here's a link to what is said to be the relevant rules that Gen ID is alleged to have violated [https://www.facebook.com/communitystandards/violence_criminal_behavior/dangerous_individuals_organizations].

I'll give you two articles discussing the Gen ID Facebook ban, from what I consider two fairly opposite outlets (in terms of bias and political leaning).

> Al Jazeera https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2018/06/facebook-pulls-plug-generation-identity-180622103135419.html
> Breitbart http://www.breitbart.com/london/2018/06/24/censorship-entire-european-identitarian-movement-permanently-banned-from-facebook/

Each of these articles has a similar formatting. They talk about the Facebook ban itself (read Gen ID's statement here http://archive.is/uVjmH), and then go into background context related to the subject.

While Al Jazeera entertains the illusion of impartiality by mentioning the statement put out by Gen ID UK leader Tom Dupre, Al Jazeera's take on events prefers to dwell on the angle of the group being accused in Austria of forming a criminal organization [http://archive.is/jhi7e]. Despite the nuances involved, they prop up the narrative by including more extensive Hope not Hate quotes, painting the group as the morally superior force against Sellner's organization. In Breitbart's take on events, they take the time to more fully discuss the response to the issue from Generation Identity's people, along with relating it back to the conversation surrounding internet censorship. Whereas Al Jazeera presented Hope not Hate as "experts" on the issue, Breitbart took the time to explain the attacks that Hope not Hate were responsible for provoking.

Let's be clear about this contrast. Hope not Hate are not impartial. They're a far-left organization who use this disparity between themselves and the far-right, to take advantage of website code of conduct guidelines to get their ideological adversaries removed. Back on July 20th 2017 Nick Lowles gloated about having Defend Europe removed from Patreon. [http://archive.is/yHBm1] Even in the replies back in 2017, you can see people pointing out the unbalanced doling out of punishment on Patreon's part when it came to enforcement of their anti-extremism policy. The far-left extremist group "It's Going Down" advocated for violence against police officers.

Thus the whole "far-left extremists have freedom to act out and attack people as they see fit" idea at work here.

To demonstrate this point, I will compare and contrast the methodology of demonstrations/protests carried out by the Left (Hope not Hate + Anit-fa and other associated groups) and the Right-wing (Generation Identity).

Around the time I'm writing this, Generation Identity's Ban the Burqa campaign is going on. [https://www.generation-identity.org.uk/parliament-ban-the-burqa/] To give you a rundown of what it is. On the 24th of June, Gen ID activists over in the UK and Ireland covered statues of women, with burqas. In order to make a statement about how Islamic culture erodes on European heritage.

What does the far-left do? Be an immediate threat to police and public safety. On June 12th they attacked an Anne Waters event and had it shut down [https://altnewsmedia.net/news/exclusive-far-left-thug-exposed-as-prominent-labour-party-member/]. I looked at that in greater detail on my own, and found how the far-left's connections stem from Jeremy Corbyn, his "Momentum" group, and the Labour Party [https://twitter.com/i/moments/1011988411199250432].

That should shed light on how these pieces fit together.

But you know the story unfolding right now, Zuzanna. The one that started when Brittany Pettibone and Martin Sellner got detained at the UK airport for "being connected to" Tommy Robinson. [http://archive.is/9fmUz] They tried to separate my friends from each other. They detained Martin a second time later on, too [http://archive.is/s6s5s]. Alongside someone named Abel Bodi. Gen ID Hungarian Leader Abel Bodi's detainment revealed entry to Britain requires acceptance of Islamisation [http://archive.is/LJTuj]. But what they did to Brittany, Lauren, and Martin only served to galvanize Tommy Robinson into stepping up his work. From taking Martin's speech at the airport in Vienna [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taIgxSDmgaY], to delivering it at Speaker's Corner [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TFvruw1U1w], to the Day for Freedom rally [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kd2ruyyHrNs]. It all led to Tommy Robinson's May 25th arrest at the courthouse in Leeds [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTdJaHWvLbk] for reporting on a grooming gang trial.

^^ That all didn't happen without massive amounts of pushback from the far left radical anti-fa extremists. I know FOR SURE that you're aware about how Hope not Hate coordinated anti-fascist thugs to assault Lucy Brown and Generation Identity back in April at Seven Oaks. [https://twitter.com/nickmon1112/status/1012379887695429633] The fact is a far-left Antifa member was arrested for violence [http://archive.is/m4tCk].

Elsewhere - there's the two run-ins Sargon of Akkad had this year. Back in March, North London Anti-fa shut down Sargon's King's College event. [http://archive.is/MaGAZ] That was allowed to actually happen. What unfolded at the venue when anti-fa crashed the party was what caused the shutdown. A few months later, here in June, Scarborough Spa decided to cancel the Sargon event planned for the 6th [http://archive.is/imVVO].

"In consultation with relevant agencies in the Borough and after risk assessing the event, we have taken the decision to cancel Sargon of Akkad." Scarborough said.

And one reflects on how Anti-fa attacked Kings College in March, that makes some sense. But that's not the reasoning behind the move.

"Stand Up To Racism lobbied the Spa, saying that Sargon is alt-right, far-right and that his fans are fascists. Meaning that SUTR have opened themselves up to loss of earnings due to defamation, this also means attendees hotel and travel costs as SUTR are directly responsible" [https://twitter.com/countdankulatv/status/1004709826696445952]

So what essentially we're left with is anti-fa swinging a baseball event around, all the meanwhile posturing "alt-right are dangerous!"

But the reality is obvious to anyone with eyes that can see.

I'll leave you with something that further cements that point. In the past few days, Tore has been the target of anti-fa communists and far-left extremists over in Ireland. [https://twitter.com/i/moments/1012001324492345346]

The heart of this problem and what exactly is going on can be understood by examining those very boring policy PDF reports that the UK Government and the UK police put out. I mention the government and police separately on purpose. That's the key distinction at work here.

Now I know what you're thinking. "Oi mate I ain't got time to read all that shit." Yeah I know. But I had the time to do that, so you don't have to. because I'm a huge fucking dork.

UK Government
My initial theory began with the UK Government policy papers. It was here that I found *no real focus or direction whatsoever* being given to far-left radical anti-fascist extremists. This is *DESPITE* the pledge within the objectives of the counterextremism policies to "tackle all forms of extremism" equally. In practice, that means pitting Islamic extremism vs the Far-Right, and leaving it at that. After reading ALL THOSE DOCUMENTS, one is left to seriously question why far-left radical anti-fascist extremists are overlooked. **Considering the amount of intricate thought and specific details** put within the UK government's counterextremism efforts.

That is to say... the UK government developed this counterextremism in such a fleshed out way, that their overlooking of far-left radical anti-fascist extremists can NOT be an accidental one.

UK Police
Now later on after my initial analysis was published, I came across a startling discovery that added a whole new layer to this "UK government is letting far-left agitators attack people" equation. I was researching grooming gangs (see this thread I did for that) and the question about how the authorities treated the far left crossed my mind. I thought it wouldn't hurt to look.

I'm glad I did.

To my ABSOLUTE SHOCK, I was able to put together a list of UK police documents that CLEARLY SHOW AND DEMONSTRATE RECOGNITION OF FAR-LEFT RADICAL ANTI-FASCIST EXTREMISM. They *are fully aware* of the friction between the far-left and far-right. The UK police KNOW the potentials of what could go down at political demonstrations, and the group dynamics within how these events play out in realtime. In particular, this trail of evidence in these police PDFs pertains to EDL stuff. Given the ire they stoked, they attracted the attention of anti-fascist counter-protesters on a regular basis. And THAT is something the police acknowledged AS A PROBLEM.

-- (2017/2018) THE TIPPING POINT: The case for a safe, sustainable and fair funding settlement for Avon and Somerset Constabulary (PDF: https://goo.gl/U2mvWW) (Page 6)

Let's pull a quote from that last one.
"At the same time, Domestic Extremism is still an ongoing and complex threat. Extremist Right Wing behaviour is currently characterised by lone actors attempting to incite anti-Islamic hatred whilst Extreme Left Wing activists retain the capability and intent to conduct further attacks within the Force area."

Now, let's compare that to what the politicians and talking heads peddle as a narrative. [http://archive.is/JxxrZ#selection-861.1-863.172]
"The volume in the threat is considerable at this time there are over 600 investigations encompassing Islamist, Extreme Right Wing and other motivations comprising more than 3000 subjects of interest and a legacy of over 20,000 individuals who featured in past terrorism investigations.A deeply concerning characteristic is how both far right and also Islamist terrorism are growing allowing each side to reaffirm their grievances and justify their actions."

In the former (UK Police) quote we get acknowledgement of extreme left-wing activist activities. In the latter (UK Government) quote?

Absolutely absent.

That's the overall point of this whole mini-essay.

Even though I'm not a resident of the United Kingdom, it's clear to me and anyone with basic common sense that the uneven balance of attention in regards to UK counterextremism policies is part of the overall problem going on within the country today.
