The future of the stream:

Hey everyone, this is something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately and it hasn’t been an easy topic.

H1Z1 has been my pride and joy for the last few years, it’s something I’ve played consistently day in and day out on stream, casually and professionally. I am happily invested into the game with my friends and teammates on Echo Fox who I continue to practice with every day. I am still very excited moving forward with the H1PL and whatever else may come our way however there’s a thorn in my side that makes it hard to fully enjoy the state of the game.
I feel like H1Z1 is going in the right direction and the patches/improvements have been solid but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the twitch viewership has declined dramatically over the last 6 months. It’s no longer a healthy viewer game and is consistently around 1000 to 2000 viewers daily.

With that being said, I think it’s time to shift my focus for a more long term success plan. I will be moving to make my main game on STREAM to be Fortnite. What does this mean for you?

Will we still have Colada Colosseum games?
Yes and they will be scheduled weekly.

Will I still stream H1Z1 outside of CC?
Yes on occasion

Will I still play H1Z1 professionally?
Yes I will continue to compete and practice daily

Do I have hope for H1Z1 to return?
Yes, I am ride or die with the game, I would love for it to flourish however if I want to continue my lifestyle past H1Z1, I need to expand my games on stream.

Why am I changing?
Simple enough, after the H1PL is over, I’d like to have a fallback - I feel as though I can separate my professional H1Z1 career and my streaming career as two different things. I want to be able to grow outside as a streamer just like before and it’s just not possible in the current state of the game.

Aren’t you worried about the numbers?
Yes, I’m worried about viewer and sub count dropping. I know initially it will be hard but it’s something I need to overcome to be successful in the long term and will deal with head first.

With that being said, I’m not giving up on H1Z1, I still love the game and will continue to play, support, compete, and enjoy it daily. I am just going to be separating my stream from always playing H1Z1 to mainly streaming Fortnite and playing H1 offstream to where I can focus and practice.

If you’ve got this far, I appreciate you, I really do. I hope you guys will continue to support me past this announcement and keep on being the best damn pineapple themed community on twitch.

Signed,

Piney 🍍
