The Future of Guerrilla Tactics
What an interesting start to 2018 it's been. Just a month into the new year, and I feel like a bit of a broken record with regards to announcing another roster that can survive longer than one ESEA season even if we don't immediately realize the fruits of our labors.
A little over a month ago, we announced our lineup for 2018. Unfortunately, ESEA's silent rule change prohibiting players under 16 from participating in MDL led @Official_Obo to decide to pursue an opportunity to play with other players left in the same boat. We harbor no ill will towards Owen, and hope that his team's success forces ESEA to rethink the decision they've made with regards to age limits in leagues below the professional level.
Without Obo, @winsumcs made it clear that this season he wanted to play in MDL, and we were not going to hold him back from achieving his goal. With the departure of Steel to GX, Torqued (now Freedom 35) approached @RealStrongLegs and I about rounding out their roster for this season. It was clear to us that Ryan could play at the MDL level and we unequivocally vouched for him to be given an opportunity to play. We will all be cheering for Winsum as he makes his debut in MDL tonight.
Finally, @BerghyFPS and I had a frank conversation about the direction of the team, the game, and life in general. During this conversation, it became clear that with a new career opportunity at his feet, it was in his best interest to step down from the active roster.
Without further ado, please welcome @tacituuuus, @poisedcsgo, and @sprigglas to the active lineup, joining @crazylegs_cs and @fiziqsucks.
Marcos and I have had a relationship for over a year, and there have been several moments throughout this time where we have almost linked up. Marcos has impressed everyone around him, with his emotional intelligence, dedication, and most recently, his commitment to improvement mechanically. We are so excited to have Marcos as our newly installed IGL.
Kevin is a player that has flown under the radar for a long time, playing several times in Main and MDL with teams that ultimately fell apart. Poised's intelligence serves us very well in his ability to make space and dissect our opponent's defenses, allowing us to quickly adapt and adjust on the fly.
Chris is another diamond in the rough talent, having previously qualified and playing MDL. It's clear to us that his natural mechanics make him the most dangerous player on our roster; a player who can turn the tide of a round or game on his own.
Thank you to @fgbcso, @berghyfps, and @Cp2__ for standing in for us to open the season, which began last night with a 16-9 victory over Mostly Harmless.
Finally I am excited to announce that we will soon be expanding into @Batallion1944 and @Rainbow6Game, as we devote more resources to expanding the brand and competing across multiple titles.
