Torch's Current Moves [PT RP] (Updated as of 1/1/2018)

--- Physical ---

Scratch - A basic Normal type attack. Torch simply scratches the enemy with his sharp talons. Inflicts a minimal amount of damage.

Quick Attack - Torch becomes a mere blur unseen by unprepared opponents and attacks them with a simple but forceful strike using his fist. He usually aims right in between the eyes.

Peck - Torch attacks with his sharp beak. That's really it. Can be used multiple times.

Slash - A considerably more powerful version of Scratch. Torch uses his sharp claws to forcefully tear at foes. Unarmored foes are more likely to experience critical hits.

Double Kick - A close quarters move that allows Torch to rapidly kick opponents two times in succession, without allowing them time to recover before the second kick. He sometimes uses his back spikes to drive more stabbing force behind the attack.

Sky Uppercut - Very useful against even enemies in the air. Torch builds up his own fighting energy in his fist, making it visibly radiate a blue flowing energy. Then he throws a vicious uppercut and propels his body upward at an unbelievable force. He drives this energy into his foe combined with his physical force, dealing a fair amount of damage. It also allows him to physically carry enemies into the air using the attack's powerful momentum/energy.

Shadow Claw - Torch uses spiritual energy to generate fleeting but powerful shadowy slash marks in the air that work in short and medium ranges. (Up to 15 meters from Torch.) It can slash even through heavy armor to inflict damage on more vulnerable areas using its spectral properties, making it more likely to cause a critical hit.

Rock Slide - Torch summons a hail of large, heavy boulders and sandy debris to rain down upon his foes which persists for a short amount of time. Nobody knows where the boulders come from, not even Torch himself.

Aerial Ace - An extremely rapid blow that involves moving at an exceptional speed to catch foes off guard. Torch then lashes out with his glowing talons to cause a moderate amount of damage.

Thunderpunch - An elemental punch. Torch expertly generates a current of electrical power through his body without electrocuting himself and electrifies his fist to deliver a potent and electrifying punch with the potential to stun enemies, allowing him to follow up with more strikes if he sees the chance.

Earthquake - Learned from observing Tacitus the Swampert in action, Torch uses his physical strength to violently shake the ground through concentrated shock-waves. Deals a high amount of damage.

Blaze Kick - Torch coats his lower legs and feet in his own flames. He then unleashes the kick with his extremely powerful legs. If given the opportunity, he combines it with his Fire Punch to deliver an onslaught of scorching kicks and punches.

Fire Punch - Torch lights his powerful fists on fire and can deliver the flaming attack through jabs, hooks, twist punches, etc. If given the opportunity, he combines it with his Blaze Kick to deliver an onslaught of scorching kicks and punches.

Flare Blitz - Torch cloaks his entire body in intense flames and charges forward in a risky tackle, propelling himself forward with his powerful legs. He turns into a near-comet and can steer himself toward the enemy even if they try to dodge, building up even more momentum. Deals an immense amount of damage but also causes damage to himself and his body to wear out faster. Torch doesn't often use this because of that disadvantage.

Dig - Torch is able to dig himself into the ground, where he's able to hide and wait for an appropriate time to strike up at the enemy or device a plan as he senses their vibrations. This leaves him vulnerable to attacks such as Earthquake.

Power Up Punch - Torch executes a simple punch, but uses his fighting energy to focus his mind and muscles. If he successfully lands the strike, his mind and muscles work together to create a mental effect of "becoming stronger." If repeated, even the most simple physical attack could become devastating.

Brave Bird - Using his extraordinary jumping power, he launches himself into the air and "flies" toward opponents at an insane speed. Wind power around him aids him in the attack, surrounding him in the the shape of a giant bird. Torch can steer himself but with less control than Flare Blitz. This deal a massive amount of damage, but also causes damage to himself. Torch also rarely uses this.

Stone Edge - Taking inspiration from the tough Rhydon-line fighting style Torch observed in Stark Mountain and drawing from the stubborn parts of his personality, he's able to control rock underneath the ground to jut out as sharp shards at varying heights. This requires concentration to execute and can be interrupted.

Dual Chop - A move Torch rarely uses in favor of other attacks. Torch can make his fighting energy take on the attributes of draconic energy, thus it isn't true draconic energy in his case. He lays both of his palms flat in the air and cloaks them in this to execute the attack. Similar to the Double Kick attack, he doesn't give the opponent enough time to recover before he delivers the second strike.

Night Slash - Harnessing power from natural Dark-type energy in the air, Torch sheathes both of his arms in a chaotic shadowy cloak, taking on the properties of sharp blades. Torch can proceed to fight this way for a limited amount of time, striking and even parrying off blows. It can inflict moderate to high damage. The chaotic nature of these blades hone in on vulnerable areas and guide his arms, increasing the chances of critical hits.

Poison Jab - Torch follows this same principle as his Toxic technique to use this same toxin in an offensive attack. Torch surrounds his fist in a poison and proceeds to strike the foe with it. Deals a good amount of damage along with the chance to poison the target.

--- Special ---

Ember - A basic Fire type attack. It usually comes in the form of flame balls from his mouth or hands, either a singular one or even multiples. The attack itself does not inflict much damage. It still sees occasional use from Torch even to this day in spars or to light up fires.

Flamethrower - A more advanced & powerful version of Ember and the trademark attack of many Fire types like Torch. Torch shoots a powerful stream of fire from his mouth.

Fire Pledge - One of the three Pledge attacks. Torch causes powerful columns of flames to erupt from underneath the target merely by motioning with his arm. Torch's expertise in manipulating flames flourish here as he can repeat the special attack and can send the burning columns coming from other directions as well. This can be combined with Grass Pledge's opposing energy to envelope targets in a devastating sea of fire. Alternatively, it can combined with Water Pledge's energy to combine into a torrential blast of water coming down from above.

Overheat - Torch concentrates his fire abilities into his body and then releases it as a catastrophic blast within a large radius of him. The extreme temperatures and speeds of this attack deal a massive amount of damage and can scorch/blast enemies backwards. The drawback of this technique is that this wears Torch's internal flame out and leaves any flame abilities after this attack becoming noticeably weaker as a result of this strain.

Focus Blast - Torch draws on his mental power and fighting energy to charge a large sphere into his hands. Torch can fire off this massive projectile or dash at his target to push it into them close-range. Launching it accurately can prove to be tricky as it’s hard to control the massive sphere’s path. Contact with this sphere causes it to implode against the intended target and sends violent shock-waves into them at the same time, inflicting massive damage. This can cause even greater potential harm to armor users as it can drive that armor inward into their vulnerable areas. It has a chance of reducing defenses against special attacks as well.

Solarbeam - Torch is able to use stored solar power as a weapon, treating it in a similar fashion as his fire abilities. Torch can concentrate this solar energy into his mouth or hands. It takes time to prepare, without a bright sun or Sunny Day up, as he has to draw on his own stored power into an offensive attack. After gathering his solar energy, he's able to to fire it off at the target in a bright beam of burning light that deals a very high amount of damage.

Hyper Beam - Torch is able to combine his ability to utilize various elemental energies to use this technique. Torch converts all this combined energy into a light-based power with no real elemental characteristics. He can fire off this blast from his mouth or hands. The blast itself is violet-purple and deals an insane amount of damage, capable of leveling the battlefield from its sheer power. Armored foes can better defend themselves from this. However, Torch needs time to recover his body after using so many energies at once and is temporarily unable to deliver any attacks for 15 seconds.

Heat Wave - Torch concentrates his breathing and then super-heats the air around him to cause scorching winds, propelled by his flame abilities, to wildly blow around him. Capable of melting rock and steel, this attack can be difficult to avoid.

Vacuum Wave - An arcane priority attack for his species, learned by example. Torch throws a punch in a swift manner and pulls it back so that it creates a projectile of pure vacuum that catches the opponent off guard. Not particularly powerful and more useful for chip damage/element of surprise, Torch considers it a step up from Quick Attack.

Swift - Another technique considered arcane for his species. Torch harnesses neutral energy with no particular attributes to create star shaped light projectiles, which he sends flying toward his opponent. They relentlessly pursue the foe until they make their mark or strike an obstacle in its path. Deals light to moderate damage.

--- Support/Status ---

Focus Energy - A favorite technique of Torch's. Torch concentrates his breathing and his mind to heighten his overall senses and thinking. His vision and hearing in particular become sharper than ever. Torch is able to have a much easier time seeing incoming attacks and delivering his own more accurately. He's able to read minute movements in order to have more time to react against a potential surprise attack.

Sand Attack - A move that Torch hardly uses anymore. Torch simply kicks sand/gravel into his foe's eyes to blind them. More experienced foes are able to see this coming.

Growl - A move Torch has outgrown long ago. The idea is to growl cutely and lower the target's fighting spirit slightly.

Bulk Up - Another breathing technique. Torch's breathing and fighting energy work together to get it flowing in his blood. His body's muscles then temporarily increase in mass and strength powered by the energy spike in his circulatory system. In addition to increased damage, his body becomes more resilient to physical attacks with his bulkier body.

Mirror Move - An avian technique used by some bird species involving the use of mirror-like energy and an advanced form of mimicry. Torch is able to use this "mirror" to absorb an incoming attack and gets the opportunity to "deflect" the same attack under this status. Special attacks are able to be absorbed completely while physical attacks are still able to inflict damage on him.

Will-O-Wisp - Torch infuses his flames with spiritual energy. He creates a triangle with his hands and fires a set of three bluish-transparent orbs of fire at his target. These orbs pursue their target, spiraling forward in a ghostly manner. If it successfully lands, the orbs absorb into the target and create a burn status, dramatically lowering their physical damage potential at the same time.

Toxic - A technique favored by Pokémon specializing in tactics. Torch is able to create a unique toxin with this technique. He sprays the enemy with this concentrated toxin in order to badly poison them. The damage from the poison gets worse as time goes on until the target faints. As soon as the target is knocked unconscious through this or other means, the unique poison disappears from their body.

Swagger - A tactic that is considered to be a double-edged sword. Torch is naturally cocky enough to be able to use such a maneuver. Torch grins and wags his finger at his opponent in a manner that inexplicably brings out their worst nature. This greatly causes their head to spin and confuse them, but also greatly increases their damage potential through their rage. The less natural control an opponent has, the more likely they're able to harm themselves through this induced confusion.

Double Team - A versatile tactic favored by sneaky Pokémon. Torch is able to create multiple "clones" of himself. In reality, these are mere images meant to confound opponents, they are unable to deal any damage. Torch can make these images move independently and can think of several ways to use this tactic to his full advantage.

Swords Dance - Through a learnt dance that makes images of swords appear around him, his fighting spirit is greatly boosted. His damage potential becomes much more amplified.

Sunny Day - Torch uses his stored solar energy to create an artificial sun. This bright orb of light gives out an intense solar energy that boosts his Fire type attacks and makes him able to instantly fire off Solarbeam without the need to charge.

Substitute - Torch sacrifices some of his own stamina to create an energy-based plush doll. He's able to use this same sacrificed energy to immediately boost away unseen and can leave the plush in his place before being struck by an incoming attack in the matter of a split second.

Endure - Torch draws on his determined will to live and all of his mental focus to brace himself and survive even the most devastating attacks as he's on the last bits of his stamina. Torch can only take so many blows before he succumbs to immense damage that exceeds his Endure technique.

Protect - Learned from Tacitus the Swampert through intense practice, Torch creates a barrier of energy to protect himself against even the most powerful attacks. The energy barrier works in a way that it counteracts the attack's violent power and disperses it evenly through itself. The barrier becomes less reliable the more it is used.

Role Play - Following some principles of Mirror Move, Torch has figured out a way to copy the natural abilities of his opponents. Torch has not yet fully mastered this technique and it can fail to copy more complicated abilities.

Helping Hand - Unable to use this move on himself, Torch can transfer his own fighting energy to a nearby ally to temporarily boost their overall power for a few minutes.

Agility - Torch relaxes his mind and body so that it increases his reflexes and overall agility. Useful for helping to keep up with speedier opponents.
