Post-RevoUK2017 thoughts and personal feelings

Hey guys,
I've seen a lot of stuff about Revo on twitter/discord/twitchat and I'd like to throw my 2 cents about it.
Revo2017 was my first offline in a foreign country. I had no expectations about my results.
I am not the best French player and I know some European players are godlike. I mostly came to the event to meet up people I've seen online on PC/PSN and have a great time playing the game I love.

To sum up the tournament: I was seeded 5th (and weren't quite agreeing with it though it was just for jokes https://clips.twitch.tv/AmazingSweetBisonPanicVis ). I ended up in a pool in which I think is of my level.
My first match was against Neo Balrog, a really nice spanish dude who plays Carl on BB and who I've already played on PSN, then I played vs a Potemkin player who was also pretty cool, and I end up being in my pool's Winners Finals against CT, a British bro who plays Slayer and who I was really looking forward to meet again.

So my first top 16 match is against Zohkiz. To add some context: he always murders me online, the day before he also bodied me in casuals, so I wasn't really looking forward to this match. Something however came up with the TO's: we're doing top 16 matches on sunday but the decision kept changing between saturday or sunday and we end up doing Raven's matches because he's jetlagged (I'm not sure if I understood what was going on). Then a TO calls Zohkiz and I to play: the setup is weird, I'm not playing well, we have sound but the commentary speakers are really loud. I end up winning and get to top 8 winners.
I honestly don't think I deserved to win, I really felt I was dead but Zohkiz was really kind and told me to chill and play patiently.
My next match (vs Svampen's Jack-O) is on Sunday and decides if I go to Japan or not. I trained the night before vs Shenzo's Jack-O (@Shenzo I can't thank you enough, you really helped me a lot).
Before my match I trained a bit again with Shenzo and played some casuals vs Martin, I got bodied and yet he didn't make it to top 8. I guess that tells you about I was feeling about my top 8 (I expected to lose vs Svampen and prk' like a scrub and end up 5th thanks to a lucky bracket)
I still don't know how but I managed to win vs Svampen. I watched the archives and I don't feel I've played really well. I don't know if it's the head-to-head setup with the yelling crowd that distracted my opponent but I won and I qualified for ArcRevo with a guaranteed top 3.

Jackal wins vs Raven, we are 2 Frenchies going to ArcRevo, I really felt happy about this and I play my match vs Jackal totally relieved and chilled. I hear the crowd laughing at my scrub moves and I manage to win. Jackal beats KingRasta in Losers Final (I'm glad with KingRasta's qualification, he's really one of the best EU players and deserves it), and I kill him again in Grand Finals, I couldn't stop laughing at some point in that match, not because I'm making fun of him but because I'm having a lot of fun. At one point I heard Owner yelling "run dp" which I did and it worked lol.
I somehow win Revo without realizing it, but this is where things go a little bad: I feel like I frauded my win because of how bad I lost in freeplays vs all the top 8 except Jackal, I beat one guy who took the time to teach me the matchup vs his character (Zohkiz), and I did a upset vs one of the favorite to win the tourney (Svampen), so I really feel I didn't deserved it.
Raven's tweet which I won't comment on makes me also doubt (@Raven if you read this, I can understand your disappointment, you're a really great player and I hope you will get good results in your next tournaments). I didn't really sleep much on Sunday night. I can't thank enough everyone who I chatted with and who kept me motivated: you guys are really great, I don't think I could make it without your support.

Even though if I think I'm a fraud (I can't really say I'm top EU even if I'm the Revo champ), I hope we will keep playing and progressing together. I really need to become better in order to make my victory "legit".

I will come again next year stronger and will try to win Revo incontestably and be the best GG player. :)

Thanks for reading!
