Burning Bridges

Hey guys, the sad reality is that I can't really stream in the same capacity anymore, I still plan to stream (nearly) every day and I still plan to stream Elder Scrolls: Legends but the fact of the matter is I have to accept defeat. Something CVH once said has really stuck with me while streaming, that what matters above all else is how much hard work you put in, you aren't entitled to a viewership due to who you are or how you play. I simply cannot maintain the level of work I put into this game, both mentally and the impact it has on my life. I have resisted conceding for some time now due to being so close to living the dream and playing card games for a living but now's the time.

Despite this, Bethesda I am not letting you off the hook for free. I played a card game named SolForge for many years before it died. It was run by a company named Stoneblade Entertainment who ultimately turned out to be a scam. I know many great people who worked for Stoneblade, and many more who would volunteer their time and livelihoods to assist them in maintaining the game. Ultimately the men in charge lied constantly about their intentions and exploited this community good will to help them cash out and run, letting the game die and burning some my of friends with it. Kaelari you're still a fucking magician and I hope your SolForge 2.0 works out for you.

I see too many similarities in how TESL is run to ignore, Bethesda has exploited too many people I count as friends and then burned them. We are strung along by a never-ending litany of "the game will be great one day, just stick with us" in exactly the same fashion as I saw in SolForge.

Pete, nearly a year ago you asked us to trust you, you are good at your job.
I do not trust you.
You have actively supported the con artist and fraud WinD whilst simultaneously exploiting hard working community members. You provide promises that are never delivered and Bethesda's reputation in the wider gaming community is in complete shambles. I believe that you have tried to make a competitor to Hearthstone, and that after failing to achieve the numbers you wanted have cut any potential budget for the game.

I still intend to stream regularly, and I definitely still intend to play TESL, I have nothing but praise for the game Direwolf has built but I intend to do so casually. I am aware this scorches any chance I have at making a living playing card games. This will mean a less regular schedule and that I will be streaming other games.

It still blows my mind that this shy, awkward little man from Canberra has a fanbase, thankyou for the best 7 months of my life and here's hoping this isn't the end of it.
