Unnecessary drama.

I have tried really hard to avoid writing this public message. I don’t like drama and try my best to mind my own business. I try to be respectful to my opponents and teammates alike. I never publically singled out any teammate for an issue. We won or lost as a team. I have always tried to take the high road and be the better person. It has allowed people to dictate the perception of me. I rarely respond or set the record straight. I mind my own business. I try to be the best teammate and friend I can be. I needed to stand up this time so it stops.

Last Season was difficult for us as a team. We had a lot of ups and downs. Something has continued to go on we can’t ignore any longer. As an organization and a player we have had enough. Our team had mixed results last season but we did qualify for both seasons of the CWL Global Pro league and Champs. We made one of the worst decisions after qualifying for S1. We brought in a coach, Sam “Fenix” Spencer to help the team. All our accomplishments to date, we did without his help. He did not make our team. WE did. We had no free passes. We had to go through open brackets, grinding through gb’s and win our way after a break from competitive cod. We were in the pro league before he came along. Some people mock us and call us “a friendship club” or whatever. We were.

I can’t speak for how he’s acted with other players or orgs. This is about how he acted and still acting regarding us. He has non stop attacked me since we parted ways. He was only with us a short time, but can’t move on and focus on himself. It’s one thing to say something in the heat of the moment, but it’s like an obsession with him. He lives for negativity.

We quickly learned things were not going to work out with him for a number of reasons. Sam was disrespectful with a degrading attitude especially to women. It’s disgusting. He crossed the line too many times. Our focus was being better players not that type of atmosphere.

We were having to apologize for his behavior and drama. He pushed the team to lose trust in and turn against each other. He broke us as a team. We played worse and underperformed pretty much every event after. He was so toxic players wanted to leave. We knew we weren’t going to team again and no one wanted to even play anymore. You can’t bully and demean people to listen. He made people think it was about stats and glory not about the team.

The community and MLG don’t know what Sam did before champs. He contacted at least one team we played that he was not a part of, maybe more teams, and provided our private team strategies to them. We didn’t stream all season because we didn’t want our strategies in public. We didn’t say anything about the players because they probably didn’t even realize it and it’s like a Christmas present to them. We don’t blame them. He betrayed us. There is no denying it. We have videotape evidence from one of the org’s players confirming it. Fenix even confirmed it in an email to us on 8/21 “As for helping other teams out showing them things I came up with yes I did that.” They were our private team strategies.

I am not saying we lost because of it. We underperformed. But it didn’t help. He helped stack the deck against us. That not only affected us but it could have potentially impacted the brackets too.

He contacts fans of the team, organizations, players and even my school friend since 6th grade. He does something then turns around and blames it on us. It’s not even for pity, its straight out character assignation. He’s the bully acting like he’s the victim. He then portrays his actions on us. I don’t know if he even realizes it.

He tries to blame us for not being on an organization. We have not contacted any organization about him. We wouldn’t waste our time. Orgs are smart enough to make up their own mind and don’t want or need our opinion.

I have tried to ignore the drama. Everyone told me to expose him long ago, but I didn’t want to validate him.

Hopefully he moves on with his life and stops the obsession.

With all this being said, I will also be playing with a new team this year. Hopefully I can get back to having fun and I look forward to enjoying the game with new teammates.

Thank you to those who support us.
