Personal perspective: Overwatch roster update

I've been staring at this empty notepad for the whole day, unsure where to start expressing my feelings.

First of all I want everyone to know this was not an easy decision, we have been discussing it with management and players for quite some time. Unfortunately having a professional competitive Overwatch roster in the Middle East just does not make sense when looking at what the game has to offer. The local tournaments are few and unpredictable with limited exposure, while global tournaments hosted by Blizzard that actually matter such as contenders are not eligible for our region.

Overwatch was the game that brought the YaLLa magic to life. From our first LAN victory at ASUS GamesFest 3v3 tournament that eventually led into a long term sponsorship with Republic of Gamers, all the way to MEG1 that featured the most memorable game local Overwatch had ever witnessed.

The last time our team got together was under less than ideal circumstances. At that very moment, gathered on a short notice for unconditional support for a fellow team member, I realized how important these guys are for me. I have been living abroad away from my home country for soon a decade, having limited access to my family. Our organization, players and management, is my family.

I am going to miss working with these talented individuals, our scrims, LANs, karaoke sessions and smoke breaks. We will put up one last fight together and play the PLG Pro Tour Season 1 that we qualified for as YaLLa eSports. Let it be a tribute for our fans and supporters that shared our journey to become the most successful Overwatch team in the Middle East.

I really hope the boys will find the new home they deserve. To all my friends and connections that are looking for undiscovered OWL talent (yes, one more LFT OWL), I got a few recommendations to share in DM. Look at the achievements we put together with this roster and consider everything was done at 100+ ping.

Last but not least, one thing I am not going to give up on is our late night PUBG sessions, boys they are still on and I will make sure that chicken dinner will not be easy, you need to carry me all the way!
