Just a coincidence that Jake Adams, the hefty slugger, was batting leadoff? "I don't know if you noticed, he had three at-bats,'' Ensberg said. "So he has a quad (injury), so he wasn't allowed to play a whole game. We batted him and got him through and then got JJ Matijevic into the game." Just a coincidence that batters 2 through 9 had last names in alphabetical order? "Yeah,'' Ensberg said. Not trying to have some fun? "It was just the lineup I put together." That Ensberg's story, and he's sticking to it, folks. I didn't even ask him about Colton Shaver, normally a DH and 1B, playing third that night.
