Laugh, Why Don't You? A Sketch Show by Fish Pie! #edfringe review #Edinburgh

When you venture into a late show you need a big powerful opening and that's exactly what you get.
You also have the joy of some brilliant upbeat 80's power ballads between sketches, this means you're more likely to be up dancing than sitting sleeping.
Sure, It's been done before, I remember seeing the Ginge, the Geordie and the Geek do almost exactly the same in this very venue but many years ago.
You know what,it works, don't fix it.

Fish Pie offer a good variety of sketches, a mixed bag in quality but most show real promise. One sketch really grabs me, they've written it as three parts but for some reason play all three parts out together. They should look at dividing it up, this way they can call back and receive three big laughs rather than just one.

The sketches are acted out very well, the writing is good, at times great but overall needs work.

The main gripe for me is the edit, many sketches hit the laugh point but then continue looking for more. If you want to stretch out a sketch then do it in the build up to the punchline. this can even enhance and offer even bigger laughs when the punchline eventually comes.

This was a good hour that proves to me that they have the potential to go far, definitely ones to watch out for.
