A brief goodbye!

This post has been a long time coming. I've been doing Well Met! & The Payload for almost 2 years. I've been fortunate enough to have enough financial support to create this content full-time. It's been such an amazing opportunity that not enough people get to have.

However, with events transpiring over the past 3 months, I've lost the joy -- the joy of the work, the grueling grind of coming up with new and exciting ideas for the show, the joy of sitting down with close friends and discussing games that I love. There are a lot of things that caused me to get here: host turnover, threatening and hurtful tweets and emails, and having our content blatantly ripped off by others. There are also a lot of people who have been incredibly and supportive and kind in these last three months. It's not all bad.

However, I've decided I need to take a break from hosting Well Met! & The Payload for the rest of August. It's time to get centered and focused. The shows will still continue on their (mostly) normal schedule with their (mostly) normal hosts sans me.

This isn't a permanent decision. I love podcasting, Hearthstone, and Overwatch too much. I'll still be around on Twitter, in the Discord channels, and playing my favorite games. I just wont be hosting podcasts about them.

As a content creator, we put our hearts and passions out in public. It requires a thick skin (I know many of you have heard the story about the first piece of feedback of my first episode of Well Met! is that I wasn't cut out to be podcasting and that the show would never succeed with me involved). My skin isn't as thick as it should maybe be.

Last thing. If you've got content creators who've never heard your appreciation for their content/work, you should send them an email/tweet thanking them. Content creators create content FOR us. They deserve to know that we appreciate them.

I love you guys.
