Super Smash Bros - Press Release
As all of you may know, BOT Empire will no longer be competing in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.
With the recruitment of Kelsy "SuperGirlKels" Medeiros in January of 2017, BOT Empire sponsored our first Professional SSB player. SuperGirlKels's sponsorship was granted because of a long list of positive and beneficial attributes that she showcased to us within our first few conversations. As an organization, we were sure that SGK was the best fit for us which has shown true over the past 6 months.
Over the past few weeks, SGK was given news regarding a partnership opportunity that would be made available to her by Red Bull. Her contractual agreement with BOT Empire was up for renewal and all of these pieces fell into place at this key but urgent time.
After a set of meetings, a determination of mutual split was considered to be the best option for both BOT Empire and SuperGirlKels. With Red Bull being one of largest eSports sponsors, a set of limitations were placed on BOT Empire in regards to who & what SuperGirlKels could promote which impacted us directly.
The result of this is what you see today! NOW! We know that often or not, a split of two parties is looked at negatively. BOT Empire is no way resentful of SuperGirlKels's decision to take the Red Bull offer. We are proud of what she's accomplished within the six months under the BOT Empire banner and wish the absolute best for her success in the eSports industry.
SuperGirlKels was the athlete BOT Empire wanted to be our face in SSB eSports. This is not an option for us at this point and therefore resulting in our departure from the title. Our team has re-evaluated where we are and will be exploring options within the FPS titles that we founded the BOT Empire brand on. In a way, we are trying to pivot to our original interest and stay true to what we love.
