Indecent Assault ***please read***
Hi everyone.
Last fall, I was sexually assaulted by James Lauerman (Mafia) inside my dorm room, within the context of our relationship. Having terminated the emotionally abusive relationship earlier this year as well as terminating all contact with him, it’s taken a lot of time and healing to have reached this point where I feel that something needs to be said about James Lauerman’s behavior and actions. I am in the process of obtaining a harassment protection order, based on the documented sexual assault and emotional abuse.
Sexual acts without consent are never okay. Attempting to justify nonconsensual sexual acts is never okay. Emotionally abusing, gaslighting, or guilting your partner into sexual acts are inexcusable as well.
Having considered not coming forward for a number of reasons (fear, public image, etc) I hope you will see this as not an act of revenge against someone who has wronged me, but as trying to seek closure for a traumatic experience that still affects me daily. Being back in Boston, being at NEU, being back around melee, has been so heartbreaking and difficult to stomach.
I am releasing this information because I feel I am doing myself and others an injustice by letting James Lauerman commit sexual assault silently in a community that I believe holds itself to higher standards.
