MEGA ESports hires new Overwatch head coach Brad "@PYYYOUR" Ross!

MEGA ESports hires Brad ‘PYYYOUR’ Ross as Head Coach of Thailand Overwatch team MEGA Thunder

10 July – North American Overwatch professional Brad ‘PYYYOUR’ Ross has joined the Southeast Asian esports organization MEGA ESports as Head Coach of the newly signed Overwatch roster MEGA Thunder based in Thailand.

Brad is a former Team Fortress 2 and Overwatch professional player who brings with him over a decade of professional esports experience, a valuable background in traditional sports, and an impeccable ability to identify budding talent that MEGA ESports is thrilled to welcome on board.

Brad has been a recognized competitor his whole life, having been a participant in the Olympic Soccer development program for USA youth, as well as representing the USA in Ski Racing at the Junior Olympics. Brad has shown a substantial ability to apply the competitive and team building skillsets he acquired from traditional sports to esports. He is not only recognized as having an integral role in the leadership of the former Splyce roster, but also credited with identifying and guiding excellent support staff such as Hyeongseok “WizardHyeong” Kim, who is now coach for professional South Korean esports organization LuxuryWatch and David "Dpei" Pei, now coach for the North American team Kungarna.

"My aspirations have always been to be part of the support staff and help advance talent within a dynamic organization. With Blizzard’s business outreach and plans for the Overwatch League, I have been eager to position myself for just that. I'm excited for the opportunity to travel abroad and contribute to the long term development of MEGA ESports.”

– Brad 'PYYYOUR' Ross (@PYYYOUR), Head Coach MEGA Thunder

Brad will join MEGA ESports' Overwatch team MEGA Thunder at the team house, located in Bangkok, Thailand, this month. His immediate focus will be on our intense boot camp with the roster to prepare for the upcoming season of the Overwatch Pacific Championship, hosted at the Blizzard EStadium in Taiwan.

“It only takes a short conversation with Brad to recognize that he not only has the drive and ambition required by anyone who wishes to succeed in esports, but also the knowledge of both Overwatch and team dynamics that will one day create champions. Everyone here at MEGA ESports is confident in Brad’s ability to handle the ever-important task of providing our players with the guidance, both inside and outside of the game, that will nurture their already impressive talent."
