One Last Restealth

Nine years ago when I started playing WoW I never imagined that it would become such a large part of my life. I started playing WoW as a freshman in college and now I'm a PhD candidate with the end in sight. But now it's time to move on. WoW theorycrafting has so many fascinating questions remaining but I'm ready to work on something else.

Through WoW I've met so many wonderful people and learned so much; New ways to think and approach problems, how to communicate ideas clearly and succinctly. For all that I will be forever grateful. I've made mistakes, been stubborn, overly hostile, and not as involved as I could have been and for that I apologize. The rogue community deserves someone more involved than me going forward and I am confident I am leaving the community in good hands.

So what does this mean for Ravenholdt?
Well not much. Things should proceed just about as before. Stjern, Rare, Paryah, and new despot Aethys will continue to run things and I'm sure they will to do a wonderful job. Mystler will continue development of the ShadowCraft engine as he as done admirably for the past several months.

What's next for me?
I'll still be around in Ravenholdt and other WoW channels. I have so many friends in this community I can't just disappear completely. I'll be working on other projects. A long simmering project on Dota analytics will finally get some attention and I'll generally be playing other games, trying new things. This twitter account will probably remain gaming and technology focused but not so focused on WoW and Blizzard.

I considered concluding this with a self-indulgent thanking of the numerous people who have been so kind to me over the past nine years but there really are too many to list. So instead, thank you all. Thank you to the entire WoW and rogue community for accepting me, and teaching me so much. May you always get daggers on your bonus rolls.
