I'll officially be retiring from playing team competitions in Halo 5.

I'll officially be retiring from playing team competitions in Halo 5.

I'm sure some of you might have questions to why I'm doing this and I'll probably explain it on my stream in more detail later on. It pretty much comes down to wanting to move on from competing in 4v4s and focusing my time into new things.

(Also this is not a "break" like last year after OpTic, this is an official retirement. Evil Geniuses has known for about a week now that I was thinking of retiring and have been figuring out a new 4th for the team. So this has been known for a little while now and the team understands my decision.)

I've been debating this past year (since after HWC 2016) if I want to continue competing in 4v4s or retire and move on to another chapter in life. I've been playing for 12 years so you can imagine why I'm feeling like this and after the recent Daytona tournament is when I realized what I wanted/needed to do. It is just time for me to move on.

I'm sorry to everyone that wanted to see me continue to play at events. One of the reasons why I decided to continue to compete this past year was because a lot of my supporters/fans wanted to see me play at tournaments still, so I did still compete, but now I know retiring from competing in 4v4s and putting my full focus into different things is what is best for me. I know I never got that 4v4 major LAN 1st place finish, but maybe in the next Halo if there is an opportunity to compete in 4v4s again I might consider a comeback if it is worth doing.

I want to make sure to invest my time wisely into the right things. Especially at this age (27 on May 31st) and living on my own now. Although I still have the skill to compete at a high level, I just don't see it being realistic/healthy for me to continue to put as much time as I do now into practicing and dealing with the stresses of team competition, especially when I feel like it is time to move on from it all.

I've done well at times these past years with content and I'll continue to do plenty of Halo streams/videos moving forward. My main focus for now will be to stream, upload videos, and do things like that to build my audience the best I can. Twitch/Youtube obviously relies a lot on audience/fan support but I know if I put in hard work like I have before, I'll get the support I need to be pretty successful in it. Creating content through Twitch/Youtube would be an awesome career and I hope to get enough support to make a living from it, but at the same time, I'll also continue to think/figure out what I can potentially do for a more secure career in the future on top of making content.

I really hope all of my fans and anyone that has ever seen my streams/videos supports me in making this decision. It was hard to decide, you guys know the passion I have for Halo and competing in tournaments.

If anyone has any questions come by my stream to ask and thank you for taking the time read this. See ya on stream! <3
