Free the refugees, or help prolong their increasingly dire predicament? #Manus
The Australian government is free to escalate its atrocities against refugees because:
1. There is no opposition;
2. There is no journalistic scrutiny of our anti-refugee policy - and endemic censorship (or false reporting) of significant events; and
3. We have a corrupt, partisan - and silently complicit - human rights establishment, legal fraternity, creative elites, and professional associations.
If we aren't making a clear demand to end the policy, but instead are playing partisan games, the policy will not end.
