My reasons why I hate Nintendo
I've been called out by several people about some of my rather bitter comments about Nintendo lately.
Some of you may find this hard to believe, but I used to be a die hard Nintendo fan at one point. I have been labeled a "fanboy" by numerous people and friends over the years because I would speak in the companies defense on numerous occasions, despite all the frankly retarded choices they have made over the years. I would have gladly taken a bullet for them, until the day they shot me in the back by closing down my Patreon and fucking with my Youtube channel.
Do you know how demoralizing it is to come to the realization that all the people who had been bashing Nintendo in the past were right all along? And to have the company itself that you devoted so much time and effort into making a fan series for to just give you a big flaming middle finger? While it's not the sole reason, it has been a big contributor to my depression for the past year.
They really need to take lessons from their once rival company Sega. Christian Whitehead is well known for porting the Sonic Genesis games to mobile platforms. So what happened when Sega found out? They hired him to make the next 2D Sonic game, Sonic Mania.
On the other side of the spectrum. Milton Guasti spent over a decade developing Another Metroid 2 Remake, which is basically a recreation of Metroid 2 on the Game Boy made from the ground up using assets from the GBA Metroid games. What happened when Nintendo found out about it? They slapped him with a DMCA takedown notice.
Nintendo's attitude towards their dedicated fans is nothing but hostile. Their blatant abuse of fair use and copyright on Youtube is frankly disgusting and not even an ex fan like myself can defend it anymore.
So call me out on it all you want. But I have very valid reasons as to why I hold such resentment towards Nintendo. And if any of you can't respect my opinions, then be sure to unsubscribe, because I don't want people like that to be following me.
