― What kind of album is your mini album "Hey Yah"? Please tell us the appealing point of it!

Youngjae: A very energetic album. I hope fans will definitely listen to and see that side of it. We also had a lot of fun while recording for this album.
Jinyoung: The main point is our addictive choreography. There are many see-worthy dance moves, such as the cute hand movements during the hook part.
JB: Please pay attention to the full of energy performance and our tone of voice too!
Mark: Every part of this whole mini album is worth to listen to. We have created an album we can be confident of.

― Is there any memorable episodes happened during the recording?

Yugyeom: We completed it very smoothly.
Bambam: The recording for this mini album was going super well. We have recorded so many albums in Japan until now, therefore we are able to gradually know well the method of recording in Japanese. We were able to finish it enjoyably.
Jackson: In this mini album, I'm very fond of the song "Over & Over". It has a melody line we hadn't tried much up until now, that's why there is a very fresh feeling about it. Plus, this is the song we received from our sunbae Wooyoung of 2PM.

― There're some tracks in your new album whose melodies are mixed with J-POP sound. How do you think about J-POP? And can you tell us which Japanese artist do you like?

Bambam: My favorite band is KANA-BOON. I notice they have sung a lot of amazing songs, they even sand the soundtrack for the anime "NARUTO". Every time I listen to J-POP, I always feel like having to urge to dash forward.
JB: I think J-POP has its own unique color and individuality. Of course K-POP has its too, but I have the feeling J-POP has a characteristically color that is set uniquely. Like Bambam said, Japanese songs give us a bright and energetic impression.
Jinyoung: I love musician bands like ONE OK ROCK or Motohiro Hata (solo artist) very much.
Jackson: One rapper I like (from J-music) is AK-69.

EPISODES THAT LIFTED UP THE TENSION OF GOT7

― Your title track "Hey Yah" is a very upbeat song that can lift up everyone's mood. Do you have any episodes that also lifted up your tension recently?

Yugyeom: This moment right now (laughs). Each time I have conversation during interview together with the members like this, my tension always raises up!
Youngjae: The moment we received "Worldwide Act" award from the global music award show MTV EMA 2016, it's truly thrilling. There are so many awards announced, some were given to big names like Justin Bieber or Ariana Grande, yet we were able to be the next one to receive an award after our sunbaes from Korea like PSY and BIGBANG. That feeling was very great, very "Hey Yah".
Bambam: When we visit Don Quixote stores (laughs)! We will make a ruckus "Let's go to Donki! Hey Yah!" (Laughs). In Donki we buy a lot of stuffs like shampoos, hair treatments or cleansing foam with perfume etc.
Youngjae: Every time we finish our work and come back to the hotel, our tension is very high.
Yugyeom: For me it's when I have meal! "I'm digging in. Hey Yah (laughs)!!", like this. Even in our daily life, there're many "Hey Yah" moments too.

2 YEARS AFTER DEBUT IN JAPAN... GROWTH AND CHALLENGE

― It's been 2 years since your debut in Japan, now looking back how do you feel?

Mark: Time flies so fast.
Jinyoung: There was one happy thing, that is we used to get First place on a Music Ranking's Daily chart. When that news came we were so dumbfounded with amazement, but then we were super happy and overwhelmed with extreme gratitude.
Jackson: There is not much of a big change during these 2 years, but I'm happy to just be able to keep releasing new albums in Japan like this. It's a great happiness.

― Please tell us what you think are your matured aspect and upcoming challenge?

Jackson: I can feel that we have gained more real ability than before.
Yugyeom: We have changed a lot, I think even our outer appearance has became more refined. Also, our mindset has became far more matured.
Bambam: True as Yugyeom said, our every aspect has changed. And everything in our life has also changed a lot.
JB: To give one thing that we've been more matured in, that's we are now able to prepare more thoroughly before going up the stage. I think that's how we carry on our performances. New challenge is to make a kind of music that can live up to our fans' expectation. I wonder if our music in this mini album could touch our fans' heart.
Jinyoung: I think one challenge for us is how to work hard in mastering Japanese language. As improvement, I guess we are now able to feel more relaxed on stage. And I also feel our singing has become better.

A FUTURE DRAWN FOR GOT7

― It's now your third year of activities in Japan. Do you have any new goal you want to take challenge on?

Yugyeom: I want to take challenge on trying many new kinds of music. I want to show everyone GOT7's diverse music. That's why if our song is chosen to be an anime soundtrack we would be very happy.
Youngjae: We also want to sing main soundtracks for anime!
Bambam: I want to do Arena tour (in Japan)!
Jinyoung: It would be great if we can perform in a bigger venue. Up until now we've only done one-man live here and there, but I want to try joining the stages where many other Japanese artists perform too.
Youngjae: I definitely want to collaborate with Japanese artists. And I want us to appear in Japanese commercials too. What activities other Japanese artists are doing, I want us to also have a chance to experience.
Mark: I also want to experience what everyone want to do. Because all of us share the same heart.
JB: I think we will able to accomplish the goal everyone has set one day.

― Thank you very much.
