Stomp On Sexism Sole Sisters!

Tomorrow as part of #FeministFriday a group of us want to show the world and in particular the V & A Museum our wonderful "sensible" footwear. We would love you to join us. @V_A_Museum are touring an exhibition called 'Shoes - Pain and Pleasure' which a lot of us have found really offensive. I have blogged about it below. The exhibition is lacking any criticism of the various shoes which have hobbled and oppressed women through the ages. Possibly because it is sponsored by the lingerie brand Agent Provocateur - not well known for empowering women. What we would like to do is post photos of our own shoes that we wear because we are keen on keeping our feet dry, clean and safe on the pavements and roads. We don't wear our shoes to titillate men. We don't need shoes which sexually objectify us or render us helpless. The V and A have actually celebrated a shoe which is so impossibly angled a woman has to crawl on her hands and knees whilst wearing it. No critical comment offered at all by them about this damaging message. So what we would like your help in is this. Please post a pic of your shoes, or you in your shoes, whatever you find safest for you. Please take care here of course. Please hashtag your photos with #StompOnSexism and #VAMShoes ..... So come on Sole Sisters. Let's put our best feminist feet forward! #http://jeanhatchet.blogspot.co.uk/2016/08/the-history-of-hobbling-women.html
