BEASTS Present Mr Edinburgh 2016
We are Starting off Edinburgh 2016 with one of last years hottest acts. We have always enjoyed their past shows which you could call organised mayhem; playing out their theme through sketch, song, dance, hilarious comedy acting and with comic nudity added to the mix you have all the ingredients that make it something special.
This offering is no different, however we can't help feel a little bit disappointed. It is enjoyable and you'll have a laugh but we were really hoping that Beasts would push on, raise their game and come back this year with a show that has everything we've come to expect plus something more. Perhaps something that would make them stand out from all the other sketch groups at this festival.
This years show has an Olympics-like theme that sees each member fight it out to become Mr Edinburgh 2016. It's mad cap and farcical, their timing is great and the improvised segments are hilarious. Plenty of laughs along the way but I just feel we have seen it all before. It's a good show and if you're new to the Beasts then you'll probably love it and if you're already a fan then I have no doubt you'll still enjoy.
