Response to Warden’s ESEA Incident

Dear friends,

Recently our CS:GO coach, Matt “Warden” Dickens, was involved in a situation that resulted in his temporary ban from ESEA Rank S. We generally prefer to handle these matters behind closed doors, but believe a short statement is appropriate in this case. However, before commenting, we felt it best to conduct a full review to avoid any premature reactions. We have had extensive talks with Matt and our CSGO players about the situation.

Matt’s behavior was far below that which is expected of a professional in his position. We, as an organization, apologize for said behavior and reject it entirely. As a result, we have levied a strong fine against Matt and have issued what amounts to a “last chance” written notice. Any similar behavior moving forward will result in his termination.

That being said, while we reject his unprofessional behavior, we do not reject Matt. He has been involved in our gaming family off and on for almost 15 years. We are greatly disappointed by his recent behavior, but today we stand behind our friend. Some will be angry with this decision, and perhaps rightly so. These choices are rarely easy, and often emotional. Matt will remain coach of coL.cs. We hope our loyal fans understand and support us in this decision, and we hope Matt’s future behavior proves it to be a wise one.

A sincere thanks, as always, for your support.
