An open letter to this thing called "injustice"

It's must have been a normal day for you O injustice. A normal day! Your routine day of perpetuating inequality, violence and injustice in this world. You must be happy with that routine O injustice! Are you?

No. How can you be happy? For happiness is the virtue of those who are just! How can injustice be happy? Your character is to be corrupt, confused and chaotic. You are here to make the world unequal, unjust, sad, unhappy, and ultimately meaningless. You can't be happy. You will never be happy. Never.

Well, as you pursue your purpose to perpetuate meaninglessness in this world, we have lost three of our dear ones. We have lost our brothers and colleagues Willie, Josephat and Joseph in Kenya. Their families have lost their sons, husbands, brothers and fathers. Good people in Kenya have lost advocates who stood up for justice. Our brothers were martyred while fighting a fierce battle against you.

Let me tell you O injustice, while you wanted us to collapse, we are not. Its horrible, tragic, ghastly, dreadful and horrendous evil that you have perpetrated against us but we are able to take that on. Let me tell you O injustice, we are proud of their lives. They have earned their heaven. You go to hell O injustice!

We feel intense pain, uncontrollable sorrow and deep sense of hopelessness. We feel down. All of us have lost something as you kill our brothers. But let me tell you a strange reality. We find ourselves strong, courageous and supremely unafraid. We are down but not out. We find ourselves brave. We find ourselves fearless. We find ourselves lionhearted.

I want to tell you O injustice that you cannot kill us. We are a different kind of breed altogether. We have got a "god-sized courage" to take on you and defeat you. Courage is our middle name. Courage to be good. Courage to be just. Courage to stand with the poor and the powerless. Courage to rescue and restore dignity and equality of the victims of violence. O injustice you would not be able to suppress us and you will never be able to defeat us.

We have given our lives to fight you O injustice. Our life is dedicated to establish justice in this world. We find meaning and purpose when we rescue a young child from the sexual violence. It's a great joy for us to bring freedom to a family who is sold into slavery. We are delighted when we help a widow to get back her property that was taken away forcefully by some brutal perpetrators. We rejoice when we help restore lives of young trafficking victims. We are here to transform communities and nations where justice runs like a ever flowing streams and all people find themselves safe and secure to pursue the life of peace and tranquility.

We know you are using some people to perpetuate injustice in the world. Especially, you are using people who has power to rule the world. Through them, you are violating rights of the poor, vulnerable, weak and marginalized. Stay alarmed, we are standing with these poor people. We will not allow you to harm them, and even if you will, we will get you and ultimately will defeat you.

Remember, your brutality is no where near to the power of strength we posses. Fear that you impose is nowhere near to courage that carries us forward. Violence that you force on us is nowhere near to the restoration that we pursue. You can keep trying in vein to intimidate us but we are not going to be intimidated.

We are fearless. We are bold. At the same time we are humble and kind. We are strong and firm. We love justice and mercy. We love our neighbors. We stand with them. We protect them. We care for them. We are the poor in spirit. We are the meek. O injustice you will never be able to defeat us because we are just, we are good.

My dear brothers and sisters in Kenya and everywhere else do not be intimidated by injustice. Stay strong and courageous. Let not this thing called injustice crush us. Let not few bad people crush our spirit of goodness. Let's be united. Let's stand with each other and fight this injustice and defeat it forever. Forever! Yes forever.

And all those who have power over people, I want to tell you please be careful. Please do not misuse your power. Do you realize how much fear a common man lives with? He goes to a shopping mall with a fear that he might not go back to his home. He walks with a fear that some police officer will forcibly throw him in a jail or even kill him for a crime that he has not committed. He is afraid of his children's future in the city where protectors are turning into the perpetrators of violence. His daughter gets raped and no comes to help. Someone takes his entire family and forces them into the life of slavery and no one cares! It's your duty to protect people from this thing called injustice and you don't even care! Remember, you are accountable to the one who has given you this power and you will pay for it. I know many of you are good and want to help but this thing called injustice is trying to suppress you. Take courage. Do not allow it. Remember, justice is the foundation of the nation, injustice isn't. Justice is what makes people thrive not injustice.

May I request you to resolve that you would stop misusing power. Resolve that you would stop all kinds of injustice. Resolve that you won't be corrupt and won't pursue the goals of injustice. Resolve that you would protect people. Resolve that no more Willies would die. No more Josephs would die. No more Josephats would die. Not one would die of injustice. Resolve.

O injustice, Willie, Joseph and Josephat's murders is not your victory. No it's not. They have given their lives not to you but to bring justice in Kenya. Every house, every courtroom, every police station, every school, every corporate company will produce Willie, Joseph and Josephat in Kenya and everywhere in the world. These Willies, Josephs and Josephats will defeat you O injustice. Your end is near in Kenya and in all over the world, forever.

Let me remind you once again who are you up against.

We are our Lord's tears
We are the poor
We bathe in his eyes
For his mercy and his grace

We are our Lord's tears
We are the meek
We breathe in his heart
For his love and his care

We are our Lord's tears
We are his neighbours
We carry the cross
For his mercy and for his justice

We are our Lord's tears
We are the apple of his eyes
We live with him forever
For his pleasures and for his joys

And finally let me tell you to all those who are my colleagues in this fight against you O injustice.

It's rising up all around
The anthem of Justice.
We are together to
Defeat you O injustice

Strong and courageous.
Sanjay
