I won't defend that #MN9 Kickstarter wasn't a disaster but the misinterpreted press on the 'better than nothing' comment reminds me of the fire emblem crap that blew out of proportion; an example of what happens when people try to interpret everything going on in a language they don't speak.

If you understood Japanese you'd know that Inafune-San didn't say that, and certainly not in response to negative reviews. He stated that they gave it their all and as creators they'd love to improve on and make a sequel if they have the money'.

Ben Judd was already getting bombarded with salty comments on twitch and wanted to add his opinion that while the game is not perfect, it's good to push forward and he still wants more 2D side scrolling action so at the end of the day he's happy there is a product to play.

His wording was bad and he didn't pause between the translation parts and his personal opinions, so it has been massively misinterpreted. Rewatch knowing this and you can get the sense of what he is trying to say and it's not a negative comment.

Anyway, I wanted to write this since it is aggravating to see the press twist this falsely. I've always been critical of the campaign and remain critical of it to this day but if the team did their sincere best when it comes to the game, then we take it for what it is and move on. If the game is not up to expectations then don't purchase it. For backers, we signed up to give him a shot to make his game--no matter what the outcome would be--and that is what we got. I do hope the mistakes made by them in the Kickstarter campaign don't paint the service too negatively and I hope others learn from it.

Peace out.
